So...what's up with the 101 in 1001?

On 10.1.09, I started my 101 in 1001 list. I can't believe I started that list more than a year ago...good gracious. Anyway, I was doing really awesome at first...then life, job change, Air Force and raising a toddler got in the way. I've done some things on the list - and have technically finished a few things - but I never really updated it. And a few things need to be altered on it...which will happen eventually.

It's not that I've lost my motivation to do the list - I check it a lot to see what else I can start doing. It's just that I haven't devoted as much time to it as I should have. So this year, I didn't really set New Year's Resolutions. My main goal is to get as much of that list knocked out as possible. So, to jumpstart that, I'm going to answer more of the 5000-question survey. The last time I answered questions from it was almost a year ago. Eesh.

651. Do you think that it would be a good idea if people served in the army, navy or air force for a while before they were allowed to vote? Yeah...no. Serving has nothing to do with politics. You can still be uninformed, even if you're in uniform.

652. If you were required to do this to vote, would you? Yes. Voting is important to me. If I had to do it, I would.

No. 89 started: Merry Christmas everyone! [and more of no. 91]

I'm the first to admit that this year, the holiday season has flown by me. Yesterday, it was Thanksgiving; in five days, it'll be Christmas. My office doesn't have any Christmas decos up, I haven't wrapped any presents or made any holiday cookies yet...it's depressing at how I just let the holidays fly by me. I did, however, start no. 89 - which was to decorate the apartment for Christmas.

I went out and bought some Christmas decorations and put them up. I didn't overdo it this year, because I'm barely at the apartment anyway. But my parents' house did get decorated, and I'll be doing more next year [since by then, i'm sure we'll be in a house of some sort]. I need to put the blue lights up on Monday, if I can figure out how to do it...but I'll be at the apartment for two nights this week before I go home for two weeks, so I doubt I'll put them up. I'm just glad we got SOMETHING up this year.

I also got my start on no. 75 the other night, which was to go to a Mavs game. Before the Thunder/Mavs game, I was super torn. I really like both teams, but I'm a bigger Mavs fan than Thunder fan [mavs are my first love, after all], so I wore my Kidd jersey to the game and went with it. I did cheer and clap for the Thunder, but I was more vocal for the Mavs - especially since up until the 4th quarter, they were losing the game. But then the Mavs lit it up, Dirk hit some big shots, and they pulled out the win. I was SO stoked.

I took this pic during warm-ups, and JJ is super fascinated by sports - he loves to watch basketball and football [he is definitely my and j's child, lemme tell ya], so I couldn't get him to look at the camera. But, you'll notice that I'm wearing the Mavs blue - love it. I'm really hoping I get the Mavs alternate jersey for Christmas, but we'll see if that happens.

I'm still really excited that we're going to the bowl game in a few weeks. It'll be insane to be in the new Cowboys stadium and even more insane to be a part of a bowl game experience - one I thought I'd never be able to do when I started college. Amazing how things come together that you don't expect.

401. Some say that high school is the best time of your life. Was that true for you? Psht. Yeah right. I was really dramatic in high school, so I made everything out to be a bigger deal than it was. And I was so eager to get to college that I didn't enjoy high school as much as I could have. High school wasn't that bad, but it definitely wasn't the time of my life.

I don't have much of an update, but I figured I'd better start the 5000-question survey since I have no idea how long it'll take me to answer that many questions. :)

2. What are the 3 most important things everyone should know about you? I'm a wife, a mommy and proud Oklahoma State University graduate.
3. Who did you take this survey from (the entire survey is available here: http://www.myspace.com/5000_question_survey)? I saw it on several other 101 in 1001 lists and thought it'd be fun to do! Surely I can get this done in 2.5 years...
When you aren't filling out 5000 question surveys, what are you doing? Working, sleeping, playing with my baby boy, spending time with friends or family, traveling, shopping...
4. List your classes in school from the ones you like the most to the ones you like the least (or if you are out of school, think of the classes you did like and didn't like at the time). I loved English - that was my favorite subject. I was decent at math, but I hated it - especially calculus. I also loved American History, especially in college.
5. What is your biggest goal for this year? Make JJ's first birthday as memorable as possible.
6. Where do you want to be in 5 years? I want to be the mommy to another little one, settled somewhere with my husband and happy. I'd love to be close to Oklahoma, but don't know if that'll happen.
7. What stage of life are you in right now? I'm in family mode. I've been married for almost eight months, have an almost one-year-old and have been working full time for more than a year now [and graduated from college 18 months ago].
8. Are you more child-like or childish? I'd say childish. :P
9. What is the last thing you said out loud? NO idea...it's been awhile since I've talked out loud since everyone else but me is sleeping.

Will you miss them when they are gone? Most definitely. It'll be very hard for me to lose them.
